Metro East town installing surveillance cameras

(KMOV) – A village in the Metro East will be installing surveillance cameras in two parks soon.

The Shiloh, Ill., village board approved spending $30,000 on cameras for the community park and Three Springs park.

Police say there have been cases of vandalism in the community park, and the village is also purchasing a movable camera that can be placed in different locations.

Police will also be able to watch live video from their patrol car laptops.
