(KMOV) – A local animal shelter needs your help.

After thieves on Sunday stole pet care supplies and more than 3,000 pounds of food, the Alliance Shelter in Jefferson County asked for assistance.
News 4 viewers responded -- donating enough supplies to cover what was stolen.
Officials estimate that the thieves took around $500 worth of food and supplies. More than 40 dogs and cats at the shelter relied on the stolen food and supplies.
Each year, the shelter provides food and supplies to more than 300 animal care facilities in the U.S. at no cost.
