(KMOV) – A water main break that left some St. Louis County residents without water for most of the day has been fixed, and water service has been restored.
The water main break happened around 1 or 2 p.m. in Valley Park along Highway 141, north of Vance. Residents in the affected neighborhood say they were miserable all day.
It all started when a small four-inch main break on Guy-Lynn Road left the area without water. Workers reportedly had problems shutting the main off, but were finally able to fix the problem.
Missouri American Water says when it’s really hot and dry outside, there’s extra pressure on the mains because so many people are using their water, which makes the mains more susceptible to breaks.
