(KMOV)-- A man has pled guilty to murder after police say an Alton, Illinois woman was stabbed multiple times, and her body was found in her burning mobile home.
Donald Phelps, 21, was charged with first-degree murder of Angelia Lish, 47, in February, along with residential arson after an alleged argument with the woman.
In exchange for his plea, Phelps will not be given any more than 50 years in prison, but he will be required to serve the full sentence. Prison-time for this type of crime usually ranges from 20-60 years. The other charges against him were dropped.
The case against his alleged accomplice, Joshua Breden, is pending.
A date for sentencing has not been set.
