(KMOV)-- Police have arrested the person who they say is responsible for a recent string of fires in the Metro-East.
Officials say a car fire broke out in the St. Clair County neighborhood of Parkfield Terrace around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.  After tackling the blaze, firefighters received a call for a garage fire in the same neighborhood.  Both calls came out within an hour of each other.
The garage sat between two vacant homes in the 100 block of Amelia, and the flames spread to both residences.
The Camp Jackson Fire Department called the two morning fires suspicious.  The department has taken care of other suspicious fires in the same neighborhood in the past week.  Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Authorities said they arrested one person in connection with the fires on Saturday.  Police did not say if the person they arrested is male or female.

Police have launched a full investigation and more information is expected to be released at a later date.
