(KMOV.com) -- An elderly Franklin County man is dead after his lawnmower rolled on top of him.
Police said they got the emergency call around 6:47 p.m. on Wednesday. The caller said the they found the victim pinned under the lawn mower.
Upon arrival, deputies encountered a witness who said he was waived down by the victim's brother to help.
Officials said the initial investigation indicated that James McNabb, 81, from Pacific, Missouri was cutting grass on a commercial grade lawn mower. Family members became concerned when they did not hear from the him after a long period of time. McNabb's brother began searching the area and found him under the mower on a concrete slab below a culvert. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene
Police believe McNabb was cutting grass above the culvert when the mower slid off the edge. Investigators said there was approximately an 8-foot drop from the top of the culvert to the concrete slab below.
