REPUBLIC, Mo. (AP) -- Greene County authorities say a man has been charged in the death of a southwest Missouri teenager.
Eighteen-year-old Gabriel Luke Roche of Republic was charged Sunday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 17-year-old Weston T. North, also of Republic.
North's body was found early Saturday in a ditch near Republic.
Roche is quoted in a probable cause statement as saying he killed North because he thought North was a "snitch."
The statement says North was stabbed and then begged for his life before Roche slit his throat.
Roche is being held in the Greene County jail without bond. Jail officials said early Monday that it was not clear if Roche had yet retained an attorney.
