(KMOV.com) -- Students at Washington University in St. Louis have raised safety concerns after a recent string of robberies and muggings.
Students said they were approached while walking late at night. In some cases, students reported being threatened. Campus officials said there have been at least seven attacks in the last week. In one attack a student was assaulted with a tennis racket.
According to reports, the suspects approach students and demand cell phones, keys, purses and cash.
Police said robberies also occurred on Pershing, Kingsbury and Rosedale; all in the Skinker-DeBaliviere neighborhood. All of the robberies happened between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Staff at Washington University tell News 4 they will continues to keep everyone updated on what is happening.
Police believe all the robberies and attacks are connected.
