Police identify hunter killed after ATV flips

(KMOV)---Police have identified the man killed after his all-terrain vehicle flipped, pinning him in Edwardsville, IL Saturday evening.

According to reports, Edward Schnoover, 68, was driving the ATV with his brother John Schnoover, 56, on the back as they attempted to drive up an embankment. The ATV flipped, causing Edward to be pinned under the vehicle.

John was not seriously injured and was able to run for help after the accident.

The accident took place on the family owned land off N. State Route 157 when police were called to the scene around 7:43 p.m.

Edward was pronounced dead at the scene, suffering blunt force head trauma. He was not wearing a helmet.

The brothers were making their way out of the woods after a hunting expedition that day.

Investigators do not suspect foul play; the investigation is ongoing at this time.
