Services set for a Belleville hit-and-run victim

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- Services will be Saturday for a southwestern Illinois man killed in what authorities say was a hit-and-run accident in St. Louis.
The Belleville News-Democrat reports that 40-year-old Gary Patch of Belleville was killed Sept. 22 when police say he was run over and dragged by a minivan in a parking lot.
Emmanuel Sanchez of Belleville is jailed without bond in the case. He's charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault, armed criminal action and marijuana possession. His next court hearing is scheduled for Nov. 2.
Sanchez doesn't have a listed home telephone number. Online court records do not indicate whether he has an attorney.
Patch's services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, after two hours of visitation.
