Cards announcer Dan McLaughlin suspended following DWI arrest

(KMOV.com) -- Well-known Cardinals announcer Dan McLaughlin has been arrested and accused of driving while intoxicated.

Police in Chesterfield, Missouri said he crashed his vehicle at Baxter Road and Isleview Drive Sunday night.  He was released after posting bond.  He has not been formally charged.  Chesterfield police are not releasing any information or details of the accident at this time.

Last year, McLaughlin pleaded pleaded guilty to driving drunk after getting pulled over on Highway 40 in Chesterfield.  He was sentenced to probation in that case.

Fox Sports Midwest released this statement regarding McLaughlin:

“We take this matter very seriously and are in the process of gathering all the facts.  In the meantime, we have suspended Dan McLaughlin and he will not be making any appearances on FOX Sports Midwest.”
