SULLIVAN, Mo. (KMOV.com) -– The Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor, Krupp Construction, will begin repairs on the Route 185 bridge over Interstate 44 Monday, October 3, weather permitting.

Crews will close the Route 185 bridge beginning at 6 p.m. Monday evening. During the removal of the existing bridge driving surface, I-44 under the bridge will be closed to traffic. Interstate traffic will be detoured up and down the exit ramps at the Route 185 exit. Route 185 traffic will be detoured on the South and North Outer Roads.
--Monday, October 3, I-44 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
--Tuesday, October 4, one lane eastbound and westbound Route 185 will be closed.
--Wednesday, October 5, eastbound I-44 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
When construction of the new bridge begins, traffic on Route 185 will be split. I-44 traffic exiting to Route 185 will not be able to turn left onto Route 185. Northbound and southbound Route 185 traffic also will not be able to turn left to access I-44.
Detours during the new bridge construction are:
--Eastbound I-44 to exit 225 to north on Route D to east on the North Service Road
--Westbound I-44 to exit 225 north on Route D to east on the North Service Road.
--Southbound Route 185 traffic wishing to enter eastbound I-44 detours west on the North Service Road to south on Route D.
--Northbound Route 185 traffic wishing to access westbound I-44 will detour west on the North Service Road to south on Route D.
