(KMOV) – Officials say they have a suspect in custody after making a threat against North Greene High School in White Hall, Illinois on Wednesday.
According to Superintendent Les Stevens, the incident happened just after lunch on Wednesday when a teacher found a note from a student threatening harm to the school and several teachers. It is not clear specifically what the note said.
Police were called to the school and the student with the note was arrested.
No weapons were found during the investigation.
Police say they plan to have extra officers present on Thursday and Friday in case there are accomplices besides the student who was arrested.
Parents were notified of the situation by phone.
Stevens says the school never went into lockdown, and classes were dismissed normally. The district did tell parents that if they are not comfortable sending their children to school on Thursday, they will receive an excused absence.
