(FootballStL) -- When the Washington Redskins arrive to St. Louis to play the Rams on Sunday it will mark the return of two former Ram greats S Oshiomogho Atogwe and LB London Fletcher.

Atogwe played for the Rams from 2006 through 2010 and signed a 5-year, $26 million contract with the Redskins during this offseason.  Fletcher led the Rams in tackles from 1999 through 2001.

“The Rams gave me a wonderful opportunity,” Atogwe said.  “I’m thankful for all they did. They have great people over there, and when you’re dealing with great people, it’s never personal. There’s a business side to this game that you have to respect, so I respect their business decisions and I pray for blessings for them as they go forward except for this Sunday.”

Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo is excited for Atogwe’s return to St. Louis and credits his former safety for help building a strong Redskins defense this season.

“He’s the best, I love him,” Spagnuolo said.  “It’ll be great to see him.  Relationships run deep in this league, at least I’ve always felt it was all about people and all about relationships.  And that was a strong one, O.J. and I.”

For Fletcher, he holds the same sentiment for St. Louis and the Rams despite playing last for the Rams in 2001.

“It will always be dear in my heart,” Fletcher said.  “  The fans were great to me.  I can remember there would be several banners throughout the dome with ‘Fletch fanatics’ signs.  I used to love that.  I mean, that got me going.”
