ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Family members and friends gathered on Tuesday to remember a man who died in police custody on Monday. They held a “protest vigil” outside the St. Louis Police Department’s North Patrol Division. On Monday, police arrested 49-year-old Tommy Fluellen for trespassing. Fluellen escaped from the back of a police car and was later caught by officers. He resisted arrest and later became unresponsive. The police chief says the medical examiner is determining Fluellen’s cause of death. Doctors said Fluellen had no visible signs of trauma to the body.
