(FootballStL) -- Before the St. Louis Cardinals victory over the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Rams loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, both of the team’s head coaches called to wish each other luck.
And after the Rams were defeated 37-7 by the Ravens, head coach Steve Spagnuolo believes his winless football team can learn a lesson from the Cardinals as they try to complete an improbable climb into the playoffs.
“They (Cardinals) were about three or four weeks ago 10.5 (games) out,” Spagnuolo said. “Scratched, crawled, battled, fought injuries, some tough losses and yet here they are with three games left and one game out. You guys know how I feel about Tony (La Russa) and I just wanted to make sure I mentioned that. I do think there is a lesson for our football team there.”
Spagnuolo wished the Cardinals luck as the team heads to play the Houston Astros. The Cardinals are one game behind the Atlanta Braves with three games left to play. The Cardinals have won 14 of their past 18 games.
