(FootballStL) -- St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson (quadriceps) played on Sunday despite being listed as questionable throughout the week and only taking limited reps in practice.
The Rams coaching staff only gave Jackson only four carries in his first game back since the season opener when he hurt his quadriceps on the first offensive play. The Rams were hoping to not further injure Jackson by giving him a heavy workload in his first game back and it seemed to work.
“It felt pretty good,” Jackson said. “We didn’t have any setbacks. I’m just gracious that coach (Steve Spagnuolo) allowed me to go out there and try to battle with the team.”
Despite the limited workload on Sunday and after being inactive last week against the Giants, Jackson believes the Rams are beating themselves.
“We’ve continued to stump ourselves,” Jackson said. “We continue to turn the ball over and continue not to execute. And it is very frustrating because the hard work the guys have been putting in is not carrying over into the game.”
