(KMOV) -- Two people were killed in a two car accident on Interstate 270 early Sunday morning.
The accident took place on westbound I-270 just west of the West Florissant exit around 1 a.m.
According to police a Chevrolet Silverado driven by 20-year-old Patrick Walsh rear-ened a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 36-year-old Nichole Stanner.
The Tahoe driven by Stanner then rolled over and crashed.
Stanner's vehicle contained six passengers; two of which were killed in the wreck.
Four of the passengers in Stanner's vehicle were said to have been wearing seat beats at the time of the accident except for two men killed.
The two victims killed in the crash have been identified by police as 38-year-old Steven Brueggen of Florissant and 37-year-old Michael Maclemore of O'Fallon.
Walsh, Stanner and the remaining four passengers in Stanner's vehicle all suffered minor injuries.
Police have not said how fast Walsh was traveling at the time of the accident.
An investigation into what may have caused this accident is currently underway.
