(KMOV)—One person was killed in an early morning motorcycle accident in Collinsville, Ill. on Saturday.
According to officials, 27-year-old Derrick A. Wurth was killed when his motorcycle veered off the road, hitting a curb on the 2200 Block of Vandalia around 8 a.m.
Police say Wurth and passenger, Elizabeth S. Morrison, 28, were both ejected from the motorcycle upon impact. Morrison was taken to an area hospital, her condition is not known at this time.
Wurth was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene, cause of death is believed to be serious injuries to his head.
The crash remains under investigation by the Collinsville Police Department.
