Two suspects arrested, one being questioned after car theft in north St. Louis County

(KMOV) – Three suspects were arrested after police tracked down a car that had been stolen, officials say.

According to authorities, police took a call from OnStar about a stolen car in the Glasgow Village area of St. Louis County. A helicopter in the area spotted the car and alerted officers on the ground.

The helicopter followed and spotted the car pulling into a driveway in the 100 block of Monteith. At least two suspects got out of the car and an officer with a police dog on the ground followed them into the backyard.

The police dog bit a male suspect, and police say a dog in the backyard of the home lunged at the officer who then fired two shots, striking the civilian dog. The dog was taken by animal control and is still alive.

A make and a female were arrested at the scene.  A third make is being questioned.

The residents in the home where the incident happened were not involved in the car theft, police say. However, they did know the suspects. Police would not comment on the nature of their relationship.
