St. Peters bank robbery suspect captured, admits to more robberies

(KMOV.com) -- St. Peters police captured the man who they say robbed a bank inside a Dierbergs store in St. Peters.

On Saturday, officers responded to the First Bank on 221 Salt Lick Road after someone reported that the bank had been robbed.  When officers arrived they located the suspect in his vehicle not far from the scene.  He was taken into custody without any incident. 

The suspect, Gene Whitehead, 49, from O'Fallon, Missouri admitted to robbing another bank in O'Fallon and two others in St. Charles.  Whitehead has been charged with four counts of Robbery.  His bond has been set at $100,000, cash only.  He is currently incarcerated at the St. Charles County Detention Center.
