The Cardinals are in Jupiter, Florida for spring training. Our own Brian Feldman is in the middle of all the action. Brian will provide constant updates, so check back through the day for the very latest news.

Feb. 25th, 10:27 a.m. -- Only one bad word from Carpenter during his live session. That's gotta be a record.  He usually has at least 4-5 in there.

Feb. 25th, 10:16 a.m. -- Vuch says Kozma is still a SS but they want to get him ready for a utility role when he's competing for a Major League spot in the future. Trying to avoid the Craig situation where he's got to relearn a position for versatility sake.

Feb. 25th, 9:49 a.m. -- Noticed Kozma working at 2nd base again. Gotta find John Vuch and ask him if there is something to this.

Feb. 25th, 9:41 a.m. -- New infield drill. Vasquez moves over to SS.  Donovan Solano joins that spot as well.  Kozma with Descalso and Schumaker at 2B now.  Doing infield specific drills.  Corner infielders on another field.

Feb. 25th, 9:36 a.m. -- Can see a difference at 3rd between Freese and Craig.  Freese looks very smooth with a strong, accurate arm.  Craig not nearly as polished.  Looks a bit stiff compared to Freese.  But that's to be expected.
Feb. 25th, 9:35 a.m. -- Interesting note from Tony before.  Matt Carpenter could get some starts at 3rd base in the Major League games this spring.  Liked what he did at AA last year.

Feb. 25th, 9:33 a.m. -- Team took full pregame routine on Field 1. Greene worked in CF and SS. Craig at 3rd with Freese.  Vasquez at 2nd with Schumaker. Albert by himself at 1st.  Yadi pretty much sat out the drill.

Feb. 25th, 9:31 a.m. -- Bill Parcells just can't get enough of Spring Training. Back for more.

Feb. 25th, 9:00 a.m. -- Salas made a very good impression last year and has a chance this spring to build on that. Could make moving McClellan to the rotation easier to swallow.  Eduardo Sanchez is a year older and getting closer.  Definitely on Tony's radar.

Feb. 25th, 8:56 a.m. -- Boggs has the potential to be a dominating big league pitcher...according to Tony. Made progress last year and can take another step this year.

Feb. 25th, 8:52 a.m. -- Brandon Dickson is definitely one of the 6-7 guys Tony is looking at for the 5th starter. He'll be a big leauger, according to Tony, the question is when.

Feb. 25th, 8:51 a.m. -- Tony says no one has flunked out yet regarding the 5th starter. People just getting their work in.

Feb. 25th, 8:48 a.m. -- Tony La Russa plans on having the guys work on cutoffs and relays and more drills on the main field in the next few days.

Feb. 25th, 8:45 a.m. -- Tony La Russa says Freese feels great and thinks he'll play in games early...but not sure if right away and how much.
Feb. 25th, 8:44 a.m. -- Berkman will take it easy today after doing a lot of running the last few days. Preventative...not hurt.

Feb. 25th, 7:57 a.m. -- Carpenter telling stories to Berkman about an opposite field HR he hit in Atlanta. Also talking trash to each other about who would win a battle...of Berkman pitching and Carp hitting.

Feb. 25th, 7:49 a.m. -- Team doing a full pregame routine at around 10 o'clock eastern. Big leaguers on Field 1 and minor leaguers on Field 6.  One thing of note. The big leaguers group consists of Tyler Greene while Daniel Descalso is in the minor league group. Nothing happens
here by accident.

Feb. 25th, 7:32 a.m.-- Carpenter and Lohse throwing live BPs today. So is Shelby Miller.  Actually most excited to see him throw. See how many sinkers he uses during the session.
