COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- University of Missouri curators will meet at a St. Louis hotel to discuss the search for the four-campus system's next president.
The curators plan a 10-minute public meeting Friday at the airport Hiltonbefore continuing their discussion behind closed doors. Former university president Gary Forsee stepped down in January after nearly three years on the job to care for his ill wife.
The acting president is former general counsel Steve Owens, who has said he is not interested in a permanent job leading the university system.
Curators plan to hire an executive search firm to guide the process. They also expect next week to announce the names of a 20-person advisory committee of faculty members and others who would offer suggestions on the hiring process.
