Warrant issued for arrest of man in north St. Louis homicide

(KMOV) -- Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man in a homicide in north St. Louis.
Steven Stafford, 45, of the 5800 block of Kennerly was charged 1st Degree Murder, 1st Degree Assault and 2 counts of Armed Criminal Action.
Around 4:15 a.m. on Thursday, officers found a woman with trauma to the head at a home in the 5600 block of Maffitt. The woman identified as 38-year-old Joy McCully, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police also found a 29-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to a St. Louis area hospital with gunshot wounds to the nose, hand, shoulder, and foot. He is listed in critical condition. He was released from the hospital after approximately two weeks.
Police sources tell News 4 that this is a well known drug house.
Despite investigators’ attempts to locate Stafford, he has so far not been located.
