(KMOV) – Police say they’re cracking down on drivers who run red lights, and they’ve been targeting certain intersections in O’Fallon, Missouri that they say have been causing some serious problems at highways K and N.
Officials say this is one of the most dangerous intersections in O’Fallon, with crashes up eight percent. They believe the biggest cause for the crashes is drivers ignoring red lights.
In O’Fallon, there are no red light cameras to catch drivers. However, in one four-hour period at Bryan Road and Veteran’s Highway at highways K and N, police wrote out a whopping 80 citations.
Some might think a red light camera would help, but leaders in the areas say they do not believe in using the devices.
