(KMOV) – A north St. Louis County fire department is down to the bare necessities because it cannot pay its electric bill.
On Wednesday, the power company installed a device at the Kinloch Fire Department limiting how much electricity the department can use.
It can run its phones and radios, but not much else.
Kinloch is dealing with a budget shortfall.
Ameren Missouri says it tried to work out a payment plan, but won’t shut off the power because of public safety concerns.
