(KMOV.com) – A Maryland Heights man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole after a body was found in a burning south county home.

Tyrone Benedict, 38, has been convicted in connection with the death of Mark J. Woods, 40 after Woods was found stabbed multiple times and his home was set on fire.

Authorities discovered Woods body in a home at 140 Kinswood in unincorporated south St. Louis County.

Firefighters received a call from a neighbor who saw flames coming from the home around 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
