ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The superintendent of St. Louis public schools is getting a three-year contract extension.
The district says Kelvin Adams will continue to earn $225,000 annually through 2014. Officials with the state-appointed board that oversees the district say that in Adams' two years in St. Louis the district has made great strides in academic performance and financial health. In fact, the district could have a balanced budget by the end of this school year, closing a $56.5 million budget gap.
