(KMOV)-- The first anonymous and fully featured iPhone application to allow users to submit tips to law enforcement agencies was launched Wednesday.

CrimeReports, creators of the National Crime Map, announced the launch of the TipSubmit Mobile app for iPhone to help solve and prevent crime.

Users of the free iPhone app can submit secure and anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers programs, law enforcement agencies or school safety officers and administrators.

“With our track record in anonymous tip management, tipsters can feel secure in their safety and anonymity using this powerful new tool,” said Kevin Anderson, Vice President in charge of the TipSoft product suite. “Tipsters can even receive rewards of up to $1,000 in the U.S. and up to $2,000 in Canada for information submitted to Crime Stoppers that lead to arrests, without anyone ever knowing their identity.”

The new mobile application augments the existing TipSoft tools that allow the public to submit anonymous tips via phone, web and SMS Text-a-Tip.

Tips submitted through the app may also include uploaded images and video, and can establish an anonymous ongoing two-way dialog and real-time chat with the receiving agency.
