(KMOV) – If you’re going online to find a personal loan, you might want to think twice.
Complaints are pouring in over the 777 Discount Club.
Customers accuse the business of taking money from their bank accounts after they applied for online loans.
Similar complaints have been filed against Liberty Discount Club. Both clubs are based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“It's difficult to communicate with the company and it's difficult to get the charges stopped,” says Chris Thetford of the Better Business Bureau. “And so we want people to understand that if you're applying for this sort of loan…that you might also be registering yourself for this service, and money might be coming out of your account.”
The Better Business Bureau says you should watch out for websites that demand you provide personal information, such as a social security and bank account number before telling you that you’ve qualified for a loan.
Also, never pay an advance fee in exchange for the promise of a loan.
