A man turned himself in to Festus police on Wednesday after warrants were issued for his arrest.

According to police, Randy Like, 37, turned himself in to the Festus Police Department after being charged with attempted armed robbery and armed criminal action.

Authorities say Like confessed to robbing the Big Lots in Festus and South St. Louis County on February 11th and 12th.

Police say Like entered a Big Lots store around 6:15 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of North Truman in Festus.

He reportedly walked in the store and approached the manager’s office. The manager recognized Like as a former member of the store’s cleaning crew and invited him into the office.

It was then that Like allegedly pulled out the gun and demanded money. The manager ran into his office, where he barricaded himself and called police.

When police arrived, they found a missing ceiling tile and thought Like may be hiding in the ceiling.
Authorities evacuated the store, but found no one.

Like is currently in custody of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on a $250,000 cash bond.
