(KMOV)-- Graffiti containing racial slurs was found Saturday outside a dorm on the University of Missouri Columbia’s campus.
Mary Jo Banken of MU News says it happened between midnight and 3 a.m.
The slurs were found on a sculpture outside the Hatch Hall dormitory building.
According to a note officials posted in Hatch Hall Saturday afternoon, Residential Life staff have begun to remove the vandalism and will keep it covered until they are finished.
Mizzou’s Chancellor Brady Deaton says the university has zero tolerance for what he calls hurtful and destructive behavior.
Missouri University's Police Department has filed a report and is leading the investigation.
Brady says campus administrators, MUPD, and student leaders plan to meet and discuss what immediate and further actions will be taken.
