(KMOV) – The man who was the focus of a News 4 Investigation has been busted by the United States Marshals.

Mark Creonte promised his customers new windows, but instead he took their money and disappeared.

Creonte’s customers are upset and looking for justice.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, two of Creonte’s victims saw the original News 4 story and called them to say Creonte ripped them off. Now Creonte is charged with two counts of theft and two counts of home repair fraud.

His customers showed News 4 their purchase orders, and that’s about the only thing they have to show for their dealings with Creonte. His customers say he was great at cashing their checks, but never came back with windows.

Edwin Brownstein, 87, says his check was cashed the day after Creonte received it.

Creonte’s bail was set at $75,000. He posted 10 percent of that bail and was let go.

One of Creonte’s contractors says they are working with Window Depot’s corporate office in Arkansas to fulfill the contracts Creonte started.

That contractor says there are 45 jobs that Creonte did not complete.

Creonte’s victims are spread out across the Metro area, but so far, Madison County is the only county where he’s being prosecuted that News 4 is aware of.
