(KMOV) -- A St. John man has pleaded guilty in the shooting death of his 22-year-old son in Pike County in 2013.

Michael Lee Phillips, 46, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to seven years in prison, as the result of a plea deal.

Phillips was originally charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Phillips shot his son, Jeff Chisholm, following an argument at a home between New London and Bowling Green during a Labor Day weekend getaway.
