(KMOV) -- Fire crews were called to a blaze in north St. Louis Monday morning.
The fire began in a two-story, wood-framed home on Arlington and Lillian. Police say the home had been vacant for a month but people have been seen constantly coming and going from the residence.
The heavy flames spread to an occupied neighboring home which did not have working smoke detectors.
A police officer entered the second home with a man to rescue his children. The home sustained mostly water damage.
There were no injuries reported.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
