St. Louis, Mo. (KMOV) – Authorities are searching for a suspect who shot and killed a man and wounded a woman near Lumiere Casino early Saturday morning.
At 1:47 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Carr and found 28-year-old Bariah Crump lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his side. Crump was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said a 24-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks and was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
Police said both victims and several others were approached by the unknown suspect who struck up a conversation with them. According to authorities, the suspect produced a firearm, announced a robbery and fired a gunshot at Crump. A short time later, the female victim was attempting to run from the scene when she was shot.
Police say Crump was the father of three children and worked as a barber who would often give free haircuts to kids going back to school in the fall.
Police said they are still looking for a suspect and ask anyone with information to contact them.
