(KMOV.com) – The town of Clarksville is asking volunteers to help fill sandbags.
The town on the Mississippi River is facing rising waters and has suffered from floods three out of the last five years. The town is asking for volunteers because the city council opted to not spend any money on sandbags because of budget concerns.
Residents are asking for volunteers to help out Friday and Saturday. Volunteers must be at 18-years-old or with a parent, and wear toe closed shoes.
