(KMOV.com) – A former East St. Louis High School coach faces charges after police say was in possession of cocaine.
Maurice Scott Jr., 52, was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance.
Police say Scott was arrested at his home Wednesday by St. Clair County deputies. The arrest came about four months after aurhorities began investigating the case.
Scott was formerly East St. Louis' baseball coach and assistant basketball coach. He was also a prominent athlete when he attended the school.
Scott remains in custody on a $20,000 bail.
