(KMOV.com) – The Normandy School Board held its first meeting since the state of Missouri took over the district.
The state officially took over the district Tuesday At the meeting, many guidelines were set by state as to how the district will be run, but nothing was set in stone. Many parents felt frustrated.
“I was expecting more but it sounds like the same thing as they said before with the last board,” said parent Kim Morris. “I wonder, are we moving? How’s it going to go?”
Dr. Tyron McNichols will stay on as superintendent even though the new board members are selected by the state.
Many challenges have to be tackled, including the placement of hundreds of transfer students who are not welcomed back to other districts.
