(KMOV) – Police have found the driver who they believe is responsible for hitting a woman during an altercation between two drivers in St. Louis County Saturday night.
"(It) started out as a wreck, a fender bender, and a guy left the scene," said Lt. Col. Steve Meinberg. "When he left the scene, the occupants in the other car tried to catch up to the other guy and chased him down."
According to authorities, A BMW and another vehicle were involved in a fender bender in St. Louis County Saturday night at Gravois Bluffs in Fenton. The driver of the BMW began to drive away, but the driver of the second car began chasing him until they reached an interestion three miles south of Highway 141.
The driver of the second car then cut off the BMW, exited his vehicle, and attempted to take the car keys from the BMW driver. When that didn't work, he pulled out his gun. As the BMW driver tried to get away, he hit the wife of the second driver.
"It could have gone very, very wrong," Meinberg said. "It could have turned out to be more serious than it turned out to be."
The woman's injuries were not life threatening and a child was found in the woman’s car, according to authorities.
