SULLIVAN, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A 48-year-old Sullivan man has been charged with assault after police say he fired a shotgun at his 17-year-old son on Sunday.
Police say Floyd Huskey and his wife got into an argument at their home in the 4000 block of Highway H after she accused him of having an affair. In a fit of rage, Huskey reportedly knocked over a china cabinet and said he would shoot anyone who came in the house.
The wife and her daughter left the house to go to the Sullivan Police Department, according to police. Huskey’s 17-year-old son stayed behind to make sure his mom and sister got away safely.
Once they were safe, the son hopped into Huskey’s truck and attempted to leave. While he was pulling away, police say Huskey exited the house and fired a shotgun, striking the truck. The son was not injured in the incident.
Huskey has been charged with one count of first-degree domestic assault.
