ST. LOUIS (FootballStL) -- Not to say that the Jets (3-6) will be an easy win for the Rams (3-5-1), but it will be the first time since Week 6 that the team will not have to prepare for a Super Bowl contending team.
That isn’t to say that the Rams will prepare any different than it did in Week 7 against the Packers, Week 8 against the Patriots or last week against the 49ers, but facing the Jets has a different feel.
Everything is uncertain about this Jets team. Mark Sanchez has struggled mightily this season with Tim Tebow waiting in the wings for a chance to start. It appears that the outspoken Rex Ryan does not plan on benching his quarterback anytime soon for Tebowmania to erupt.
The Jets are currently in a three-game losing streak, including a 28-7 thumping handed down by the Seahawks last week. The team has scored only 16 points in its last two games and the faithful in New York are beginning to grumble louder each day.
Do the Jets need a quarterback change? That isn’t certain and, like most others think, I don’t believe Tebow could do any better of a job than what Sanchez has done.
Now would it be awesome if Tebow entered this week’s game as a quarterback? Absolutely. It would definitely help get the Rams exposure on the national stage with ESPN covering every little step Tebow made during the game. Unfortunately it would take just that to get others to start paying attention to a solid Rams team that has been rather impressive to watch despite what its record is.
The game will be televised this week on CBS at noon.
