ST. LOUIS (FootballStL) -- It is still not known what Chris Givens and Janoris Jenkins did to land in Jeff Fisher’s doghouse, but the team expects both players to return to practice this week.
Givens and Jenkins were both surprise announcements on the team’s inactive list prior to Sunday’s game against the 49ers. Team officials would only cite that the players violated team rules.
“They will return to practice. They were in the meetings this morning and they will return to practice,” Fisher said at his Monday press conference.
A return to practice shouldn’t be an assumption that both players will return to action this Sunday against the Jets. That has yet to be announced.
The move to deactivate both players for Sunday’s game was an eye-opening decision made by Fisher considering both players have been major components to the Rams gameplan this season.
Givens has been viewed as a legitimate deep threat for the Rams passing game after compiling five straight games with a reception of fifty yards or more. Jenkins has started at cornerback in every game prior to Sunday.
