IRON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- The search has ended for a 6-year-old girl who went missing for several hours while hunting with her father on Saturday morning.
Another hunter reportedly found the girl walking along a road around 2:15 Saturday afternoon.
Officials say the girl was out deer hunting with her father in a wooded area around 6 a.m. Saturday when she went missing. The two were in an area near County Road 134.
The girl's father told police he turned to look into the woods when she disappeared. He then called for help.
Police say 75 people were helping with the search along with tracking dogs and emergency helicopters. During the search, the young girl's orange vest and orange hat were found, and dogs were able to pick up her scent.
The area they were searching was 1/8 of a mile from the roadway. The area is very secluded and has heavy brush, but is only a couple of square miles, according to police. Authorities set up a command post off Highway E.
Police have not released the girl's name.
