TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. (KMOV) – Police say they have caught up to a serial burglar who targeted homes in west St. Louis County. The suspect reportedly snuck into houses at night – sometimes while residents were asleep.
The suspect, Nicholas Blackwell is now in jail. Police say that at least five other police departments in the area want to talk to Blackwell about other burglary cases.
In Town and Country, police say Blackwell snuck into a house on Conway Hills Road on July 29. He reportedly did it at night while people slept inside, taking a purse and a pair of tennis shoes.
Police say Blackwell also took a laptop computer from a house on Conway Village Drive.
Officials identified their suspect on video using a stolen credit card to rent movies from a Redbox kiosk.
Blackwell is an ex-con with a history of stealing and burglary convictions on his record.
