(KMOV) – The Metropolitan Police Department said an anonymous tip led them to the suspect who has been accused of robbing two Family Dollar Stores in St. Louis.

Police said, the two robberies happened at 4949 Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. and 6000 Natural Bridge Rd on August 15, and in both robberies the suspect displayed a gun and demanded cash. After the cashiers complied, the suspect left the stores on foot without injuring anyone.

The suspect has been identified as Ricky Lane, Jr., 23, from St. Louis.  Lane was arrested on Thursday and charged with 2 counts of 1st degree robbery and 2 counts of armed criminal action.  His bond has been set at $150,000 cash only.

Police said they owe their efforts to a citizen who made an anonymous tip.  That tip led them to their suspect.
