ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Work that started in March to replace a century-old sewer line as well as gas and water lines in a south St. Louis neighborhood will not be completed until November, according to the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District.
The work is being done near the intersection of Utah Street and Oak Hill, and has left broken road, dirt, dust and construction debris all over Utah Street.
Since the construction began, residents have had to put up with road closures and odd ways to get in and out of their homes.
An MSD spokesman says there’s no getting around a project this massive without making a mess.
The project cost about $2.3 million.
