SENATH, Mo. (KMOV)--- Police have charged a Senath, Missouri man in the case of missing 3-year-old Breeann Rodriguez.
The Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney, Stephen Sokoloff, annouced on Saturday that charges of first degree murder, armed criminal action and tampering with physical evidence have been filed against Shawn Morgan, 43, of Senath, Missouri. According to Senath police, Morgan lives on the same street as the Rodriguez family, but is not related.
It is unclear what Morgan may have told investigators, but police said Morgan likely killed Breeann Rodriguez by suffocating her. The official cause of death will not be determined until Breeann's body is recovered.
Morgan is being held without bond and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri Department of Conservation and the Dunklin County Major Case Squad are still searching for Breeann Rodriguez’s body and her bicycle in an undisclosed area in Dunklin County.
