Man robs Cahokia bank at gunpoint

(KMOV)-- Police are searching for a man accused of robbing a Cahokia bank at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Cahokia Police Chief James Jones, an unknown suspect entered the Regions Bank located at 900 Upper Cahokia Road around 3 p.m. and pointed a silver semi-automatic handgun at the teller and demanded money. 

After receiving an unknown amount of money, he pointed the handgun at the next teller and demanded additional money. After receiving an unknown amount of money, the suspect fled the bank on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’09” – 6’00” tall, medium build, and was wearing a black Toronto Blue Jays fitted baseball cap, black windbreaker with white stripes on the sleeves, and blue jeans.
