(KMOV)—Multiple cars were broken into in three different locations in St. Louis late Tuesday night.

According to authorities, car locks were punched out in Dogtown, Hampton Village and South St. Louis city.

Two cars were broken into in the 6200 block of Nottingham, two cars near Tamm and Oakland, as well as a car at Hampton Village.

It is still unclear what was taken, if anything, from these cars.

Police say an off-duty officer on his way home spotted suspicious activity at Hampton Village and began to follow a silver Mazda until he lost it, this car is considered to be involved in at least one of the break-ins.

Authorities are investigating the link between the different break-ins and possible suspects.

The investigation is still ongoing.
